The 1st National Energy Manager Training Workshop for Government Officials in Brunei Darussalam

​The 1st National Energy Manager Training Workshop for Government Officials in Brunei Darussalam was officially launched by Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Jamra Weira bin Pengiran Haji Petra, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Energy and Power) at the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry (MEMI) on 11th September 2019. The training workshop will be held for 3 days, from 11-14 September 2019 at Level 1, Prime Minister's Office Building Complex.

​The Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry (MEMI) and its Department held a Majlis Sambutan Awal Tahun Hijrah for the year 1441 Hijrah / 2019 Masehi on Monday, 9th Muharram 1441H / 9th September 2019M, together with associated statutory bodies. Jointly organized by the Ministry's Sustainable Energy Division and In-Country Value Division, the event was held at the Main Theater Hall, Prime Minister's Office Building. Present at the event as the Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Awang Haji Zolkiflee bin Haji Abdul Karim, Permanent Secretary (Manpower).

BSJV Companies Scholarship Awarded to 42 exemplary students

​Yang Mulia Awang Haji Zolkiflee Bin Haji Abdul Karim, Permanent Secretary (Manpower) at the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry attended the contact signing ceremony for the forty two (42) exemplary students under the Brunei Shell Joint Ventures Scholarship Scheme as the Guest of Honour.  Held on 9th September 2019 at the Indera Samudra Grand Hall, The Empire Hotel and Country Club, the event also saw four (4) returning scholars being awarded the First Class Achievers Awards.

Brunei Darussalam Wins The Prestigious ASEAN Energy Awards 2019

Brunei Darussalam took the center stage by winning the ASEAN Energy Awards 2019 under the Renewable Energy (RE) project competition with an innovative project which tackles both climate change and food security issues. Brunei Darussalam won ‘the special submission’ category with a project titled “Solar PV Aquaponic System, Brunei Darussalam”.

The 2nd East Asia Energy Forum was held on the 2nd September 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand, carrying the theme of “Towards Sustainable Energy Transition and the Role of Connectivity in ASEAN”. The forum was officiated by Mr Kulit Sombatsiri, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Energy of Thailand.

​A contract signing ceremony under the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry's i-Usahawan programme was held between Total E&P Borneo B.V. (TEPB) and Mohd HMS Enterprise on 29th August 2019 at the Business Centre, the Empire Hotel and Country Club. Attending the ceremony as the Guest of Honour to witness the signing ceremony was Yang Mulia, Haji Zolkiflee bin Haji Abdul Karim, Permanent Secretary (Manpower) at the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry. The ceremony marks the first i-Usahawan contract awarded by TEPB.

​Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry attended the 12th LiveWIRE Brunei Business Awards 2019 Prize Presentation Ceremony as the Guest of Honour on 29th August 2019 at the Hua Ho Manggis Mall Ballroom. The competition identifies and rewards young, successful local business start-ups. Also in attendance was Dr. Ceri Powell, Managing Director of Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn. Bhd.
