Legislative Council Members Working Visits to Industrial Sites

​Members of the Legislative Council (LegCo) conducted working visits to several of Brunei Darussalam's 25 Industrial Sites managed by Darussalam Enterprise (DARe) including Sungai Bera Industrial Site, Sungai Liang Industrial Park (SPARK), Pulau Muara Besar Industrial Park, and Salambigar Industrial Park on Wednesday, 13th November 2019. The visit mark the first segment of the Ministry's two-day engagement with the LegCo members. The LegCo Members' delegation was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Putera Maharaja Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Ghani bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Dewa Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Rahim. 

The Official Launching of the Brunei Halal Showcase 2019 (BruHAS 2019)

​Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mat Suny bin Haji Md. Hussein, Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry launched the Brunei Halal Showcase 2019 (BruHAS 2019) on 11th November 2019 at BRIDEX Hall 2, Jerudong. Launched together with the 4th International Seminar on Halalan Thayyiban Products and Services (SAPPHAT IV), the showcase brings together businesses, government official, private sectors representatives, academia and international traders in the halal sectors. BruHAS 2019 is being held from 11th to 15th November 2019 and was organized by the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry (MEMI) in collaboration with Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) and its strategic partners including the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA), the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT) and the Ministry of Health (MOH). The event is supported by Darussalam Enterprise (DARe) and Laksamana College of Business (LCB).

The Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry and its Department participates in National Maulud Mass Gathering and Procession

A delegation of seventy (70) officers and staff from the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry (MEMI) and its Department was among the 12, 900 participants of National Maulud Mass Gathering and Procession in commemoration of Prophet Muhammad's Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wasallam birthday at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien on 9th November 2019. The grand assembly was led by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry led Maulud Mass Gathering and Procession in Temburong District

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mat Suny bin Haji Md. Hussein, Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry led the mass gathering and procession to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) on 9th November 2019 at Pekan Bangar Community Hall Complex Field. The procession in Temburong District saw the participation of One Thousand, One Hundred and Sixty Nine (1,169) participants which involved 20 teams.


Women Gathering Ceremony in Temburong District to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

Women gathering ceremonies to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) were held across the country. In Temburong District, the gathering was attended by Yang Mulia Datin Dayang Hajah Maimunah binti Haji C.A Mohammad, wife of the Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry. Held at the Pekan Bangar Civic Centre, the gathering saw the attendance of more than 400 women comprising of  government employees, association members, and school pupils attended the function.

BruHAS 2019 to Feature More than 100 Exhibitors

More than 100 exhibitors comprising of companies and government agencies are expected to participate in BruHAS 2019 that will be held from 11th to 15th November 2019 at BRIDEX Hall 2, Jerudong. Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry (MEMI) participates in the Civil Service Day Exhibition

The Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry (MEMI) and its Department joined 12 other Ministries in participating in the Civil Service Exhibition, held as one of the key activities under the 26th Civil Service Day Charity Recreation event. The event was held on Sunday, 3rd November 2019 at Taman Sir Muda Omar 'Ali Saifuddien, Bandar Seri Begawan in conjunction with the 26th Civil Service Day. Organized by the Civil Service Institute (IPA), Public Service Commission (SPA) and Youth and Sports Department under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), the exhibition showcased information and activities related to the Ministries' services and existing initiatives. Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office.

The National Climate Change Policy Drafting Youth Review

The Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry (MEMI) through the Brunei Climate Change Secretariat (BCCS) organised the National Climate Change Policy Drafting Youth Review on 2nd November 2019 at the Prime Minister's Office Building. The session was attended by 60 participating youth, encompassing students, professionals, and volunteers. Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Awang Haji Azhar bin Haji Yahya, Permanent Secretary (Energy) in his capacity as the Chair of the Executive Committee on Climate Change.
