Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan was appointed as the Permanent Secretary (Industry) at the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry on the 31st July 2018.  Prior to his appointment as Permanent Secretary, he was the Director of Human Resource Development and Corporate Affairs at the Ministry of Finance and later, as the Acting Controller of the Royal Customs and Excise Department.


Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan joined the Brunei Darussalam Civil Service in 2002 as an Administrative Officer under the Brunei Administrative Service (BAS) Scheme and has served in various positions in the public sector which cover areas in Administration and Finance, Local Authority, Community Development, Policy Formulation, Civil Service Reforms, Human Resource, Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE), Customs and Excise, Enforcement as well as trade facilitation. These included stints with the Public Service Department, Brunei and Muara District Office, Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education and the Royal Customs and Excise Department.


Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in International Tourism and Hotel Management from South Bank University, London, United Kingdom. In 2006, he was awarded a Master of Human Resource Management degree from Griffith University, Australia.
