08-Feb-2020 : Deputy Minister of Energy attended Khatam Al-Qur’an Ceremony in Conjunction with BLNG’s 50th Anniversary

Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister of Energy on Saturday, 8th February 2020 attended Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd's Khatam Al-Qur'an ceremony in conjunction with its 50th Anniversary. The event was held at Masjid Zainab in Lumut.

Also in attendance were Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Abdul Hamid bin Haji Mumin, a Legislative Council (LegCo) member and Penghulu of Mukim Liang; senior government officials; management, staff and retirees from Brunei LNG; management from Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP), Brunei Gas Carriers Sdn Bhd (BGC); representatives from neighboring companies and business partners; and members of the Mukim Liang Lumut community.

A total of 50 participants comprising staff and business partners of Brunei LNG took part in the ceremony. The ceremony began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Yang Mulia Awang Haji Mohd Jaafar bin Haji Awang Bakar, Senior General Manager Plant followed by recitation of Surah-Surah Lazim by khatam participants and a Doa Khatam led by BSP Junior Guidance Counsellor Muhammad Najmuddin bin Haji Muhd Said.

The ceremony continued with a Dikir Marhaban followed by the recitation of Doa Selamat, Doa Peliharakan Sultan, Doa Kesyukuran by Yang Mulia Awang Soffian bin Bidin, Imam Masjid Zainab. Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw handed over endowment items from Brunei LNG in the form of Buku Takhtim and Buku Surah Yaasin to the mosque. This was followed by a souvenir presentation to the Guest of Honour.
