The Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry (MEMI), its Department and Agencies held a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration for its officers and staff on Saturday, 17th Syawal 1440H / 22nd June 2019M at the Banquet Hall, Prime Minister's Office. The celebration was organized by the Ministry's Human Resource and Corporate Division and Energy Upstream Business Division. Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mat Suny bin Haji Md. Hussein, Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry.

Also in attendance were Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry; Yang Mulia Awang Haji Azhar bin Haji Yahya, Permanent Secretary (Energy); Yang Mulia Awang Haji Zolkiflee bin Haji Abdul Karim, Permanent Secretary (Manpower); Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Permanent Secretary (Industry); Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Corporate and Industry); Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Jamra Weira bin Pengiran Haji Petra, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Energy and Power); senior officials, officers and staff of MEMI, the Department of Electrical Services (DES), Autoriti Elektrik Negara Brunei Darussalam (AENBD), Darussalam Enterprise (DARe), Safety Health Environment National Authority (SHENA) and Brunei National Energy Research Institute (BNERI).

Themed "Riang Warna Warni", the concept of this year's event is Open Booth comprised of 8 booths from the Ministry's Department, Divisions, Units and Statutory Bodies. During the celebration, the Minister along with the Deputy Minister, Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretaries met and greeted officers and staff at their respective booths, which were elaborately displayed showcasing cuisines from different countries. 

In its effort to lead and promote climate mitigation action, MEMI took the opportunity to showcase a Hari Raya celebration conducted in a sustainable manner where only biodegradable plates, cups, cutleries and trash bags were allowed. The use of plastics were highly discouraged and wastes were separated for recycling purposes. A biodegradable fabric panel for MEMI officers and staff to pledge their climate action was also among the main centerpieces at the event.

The celebration is the Ministry's annual activity aimed at celebrating the festive occasion and forge closer ties between the staff of MEMI, its department and agencies.
